Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Belmont Park, Churchill Downs and Indiana Grand Picks for June 10, 2021

Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Belmont Park, Churchill Downs and Indiana Grand Picks for June 10, 2021

Last week was one of the best ever in #RickysRockets🚀 history, given how well we did on Belmont Stakes day! We were able to capture every Pick 4 and Pick 5 on the day, winning over $2,600! At Gulfstream Park, we cashed the Late Pick 4: $657.10 / Late Pick 5: $4,526.90 / Pick 6: $9,576.50 all in one day’s work! It was a fantastic weekend but we are back for more on Thursday afternoon. We head to Indiana Grand for the first time in a long time, and look to add another track to the mix!

Also included below: my 9-race preview of Belmont Park, 9-race preview of Churchill Downs, 9-race preview of Indiana Grand!

Best of luck!

Belmont Park June 10, 2021

Race 6: $35,000 Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the widener turf

#3 Dante’s Fire drops in for a tag for the first time after multiple starts against Allowance runners and Stakes competition. He will be toward the back of the pack, which is always tough given the way these races are run on the front end. #4 Malthael hasn’t finished in the money since he ran against Claiming competition in his final start for Greg DiPrima last November. This is the same level of runners he faced on that day, and he fits in perfectly given the lack of quality from the rest of the field.

Race 7: Allowance for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/4 miles (10 furlongs) on the inner turf

#4 Windfall Profit will attempt to run 10 furlongs for the first time in her career, but she’s not alone. Only about a half of the runners have traveled this distance, making her a bit of a challenge to handicap. #5 Prairie Wings has never gone this distance but she’s finished first or second in 6/7 races, and has the pedigree to win in this spot.

Race 8: $80,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt

#3 Jemography was on a three-race win streak, but now hasn’t won since February 4. He ran into an extremely tough group last time out, and should be a tough competitor if he can show some speed out of the gate. #6 Extraordinary Jerry makes his first start since last June, making this close to a full year layoff. The last time we saw him on the dirt was in the Blame Stakes at Churchill Downs.

Race 9: $40,000 Maiden Claiming for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the widener turf

#2 Voliero makes his second start for Mike Maker and gets a much more aggressive rider in Luis Saez. If he weren’t to win here, he may never win a race. #5 Ghostmon has found some friends at this level after two straight starts. His most recent race was the first time he showed any speed out of the gate.
