Belmont Park September 17, 2021

Race 6: Maiden Special Weight for 2-year-olds going 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt

#2 Cairama makes his debut for Steve Asmussen. One of the biggest things to note, Cairo Prince stands for $15,000 but his offspring sold for $525,000 back in March. #3 Afjan also has some nice pedigree, having come from the Uncle Mo running lines. He probably will be running longer distances down the road, based on his sire alone.

Race 7: Allied Forces Stakes for 3-year-olds going 6 furlongs on the widener turf

#1 Ranger Fox followed up his Maiden Special Weight win, with a sixth-place finish in the Better Talk Now Stakes. He’s much better going shorter distances, so this six furlong sprint should be perfect for him. #7 Jaxon Traveler finished third in his only turf race back in July. He lost to Golden Pal, who’s arguably the best turf sprinter in the country.

Race 8: Christiecat Stakes for 3-year-old fillies going 6 furlongs on the inner turf

#5 Caldee will hope she can show her gate speed, and maintain that throughout the race. She’s best when the rest of her competition has to come get her. #8 Tuscan Queen will look to get back to her Maiden score two starts back at Saratoga. She is stakes tested, but her last race certainly won’t be good enough to win here.

Race 9: $25,000 Maiden Claiming for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#8 Know It All Red has been one of the closer fillies to winning a race, evidenced by three straight seconds/thirds dating back to June. #9 Tellaperfecttale finished second by a nose last time out, with Tyler Gaffalione in the saddle. She can’t run much better than that and still lose.
