Ricky’s Rockets 🚀: Belmont Park, Churchill Downs and Gulfstream Park Picks for June 4, 2021

WE ARE OFFICIALLY ONE DAY AWAY!! The Belmont Stakes is just just about here, and #RickysRockets🚀 is ready to go. We carried momentum from Memorial Day into Thursday afternoon, cashing tickets over a sloppy main track. Friday afternoon is no short of excitement, as Belmont Park plays host to five stakes races on the card. With each day that passes, the excitement continuously grows!

Also included below: my 9-race preview of Belmont Park, 9-race preview of Churchill Downs, 9-race preview of Gulfstream Park!

Best of luck!

Belmont Park June 4, 2021

Race 8: Bed o’ Roses Stakes (G3) for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt

#5 Victim of Love looks to stay undefeated here at Belmont Park, having won the Vagrancy Handicap (G3) twice in her career already. This distance has been a tricky proposition in the past for her, even though she’s extremely talented. #7 Pacific Gale comes into this race having lost to Victim of Love by just a few lengths last time out. I don’t think she’s that much worse, and has some off track success as well.

Race 9: New York Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 1 1/4 miles (10 furlongs) on the inner turf

#5 Harvey’s Lil Goil looked spectacular in the Beaugay Stakes (G3) last time out. She should be even tougher to beat as she makes her second start of the year. #7 Mean Mary got the best of Vigilantes Way in the Galorette Stakes (G3) on Preakness Stakes day, but this race is going to be tougher. Her best chance to win is to go gate-to-wire.

Race 10: Belmont Gold Cup Stakes (G2) for 4-year-olds and upward going 2 miles (16 furlongs) on the widener turf

#3 Ziyad can run for days given the two races he’s been a part of this year. His only race this year was in the Man O War Stakes (G1) when he lost by three lengths. It’s tough to know what to make of #8 Baron Samedi, but we know he’s more than capable of going this distance. Only one of the runners has ever gone 16 furlongs, but he’s gone close on multiple occasions in France and Ireland.

Race 11: Maiden Special Weight for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt

#1 Q F Seventy Five will be given another furlong to work with, after debuting at 8 furlongs then going 9 furlongs in his subsequent start. Getting Joel Rosario to ride certainly doesn’t hurt his chances either. USING #8 Landbiscuit as well!
