Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct, Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita Picks for February 14, 2020

Ricky’s Rockets ? certainly enjoyed heading to New Orleans for the first time! We were just a couple of races away from a massive day, but we closed the day strong by cashing in a $479.75 Pick 4 from Santa Anita! We head back to Aqueduct for the first time in a long time as Oaklawn Park remains on hiatus due to weather. We have action from California, Florida and New York on Sunday afternoon!

Gulfstream Park February 14, 2020

Race 8: $35,000-$25,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the turf 

#6 Pardon My Heart was horrible last time out. The fractions were incredibly slow and she just had no chance as a result. There looks to be some more speed in here which should give her the perfect chance to close. #7 Kelleycanrun comes out of the same race as Pardon My Heart. She was much better as she finished third by just a length.

Race 9: $35,000-$25,000 Claiming for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#2 Shadilee will run these horses off of their feet, or will be absolutely horrible. She’s never run at the Claiming level on the dirt so it’s possible she finds a much needed win. #6 Smack will try the dirt for the first time after running strictly on the turf. She hasn’t been quite as poor as Shadilee, but is well off her form compared to this time last year when she broke her maiden at Gulfstream over the turf.

Race: 10: $25,000 Allowance Optional Claiming for fillies and mares 4-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the turf

#5 Osaka Girl makes her first start of the year after a disappointing 2020 campaign. It was disappointing in the fact she finished second so many times. As she turns 4, it’s possible the best of her career is yet to come. #11 Minmina’s Team finished second in the same condition as Osaka Girl, but failed to hold on to the lead. Both will want to establish themselves early on the front end.

Race 11: Maiden Special Weight for 3-year-old fillies going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the turf

#4 Never Content simply needs to get better to win, but none of the other runners in the field have established themselves as a clear cut favorite. She is one of many that has a chance to close out the card. #5 Cadencia ran her best race in her first start at Gulfstream Park to close out 2020. She will most likely go off as the post-time favorite, and is a vulnerable one at that.
