Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct, Gulfstream Park and Los Alamitos Picks for December 5, 2020

Ricky’s Rockets? continues momentum into the weekend as we attack stakes races from Aqueduct, Gulfstream Park, and Los Alamitos. Even though December has officially arrived, the action doesn’t stop.

Also included below: my 11-race preview of Gulfstream Park and 9-race preview of Los Alamitos.

Best of luck!

Race 7: Allowance for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt OFF THE TURF

LOOK AT MAIN TRACK RUNNERS! WILL BE USING: #12 SWEET KISSES AND #14 PRAIRIE FIRE

Race 8: Allowance for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

#2 Wasp was 1/5 in her last start, and certainly ran like a filly who couldn’t lose. She won’t be that short of a price in this race, but probably will be the favorite. #12 Blichton Lady faced Sharp Starr last time out who is one of the top competitors in the Go For Wand Handicap earlier in the card.

Race 9: Demoiselle Stakes (G2) for 2-year-old fillies going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt

#1 Malathaat has done absolutely nothing wrong in her career. She was purchased for seven figures in 2019 at the Keeneland September sale, and has lived up to everything and more. She was tested in the Tempted Stakes and won by close to 8 lengths without breaking a sweat. #6 Cafe Society will get her chance to get some redemption on Malathaat, who beat her in the Tempted Stakes. The difference this time around is she gets Jose Ortiz who rode her to victory in her debut on October 18. She will need to improve however to win.

Race 10: Cigar Mile Handicap (G1) for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

#1 Performer hasn’t lost since he broke his maiden on June 29, 2019. All of those wins have come by at least a length as well. This will be his biggest test, but there’s nothing to suggest he isn’t up for the task. #6 King Guillermo was on the triple crown trail before suffering a major injury. He was the talk of the town leading up the Kentucky Derby in September, but will get his chance to remind all of us how talented he is.
