Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct, Churchill Downs, and Del Mar Picks for November 14, 2020 November 13, 2020 Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct, Churchill Downs, and Del Mar Picks for November 14, 2020 November 13, 2020 By: Ricky Pasternak email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article We were so close to having a big day at Aqueduct and Churchill Downs yesterday! Ricky’s Rockets looks to get back on track as we have plenty of stakes action across the country on Saturday afternoon. Also included below: my 11-race preview of Churchill Downs and 9-race preview of Del Mar. Best of luck! ( Content Continues Below Ad ) Race 7: Notebook Stakes for New York-bred 2-year-olds going 6 furlongs on the dirt #4 Eagle Orb is still in search for his first win since his maiden score back on August 21. He hasn’t been uncompetitive since that race, but he’s just not as strong as some of the runners he’s been going up against. He will need his best race to beat #7 Blue Gator for Mike Maker. This colt by Liam’s Map has been sensational and one of the better 2 year olds in New York. No one saw him up at Saratoga so he’s gone under the radar, but he looks poised for a big performance. Race 8: $62,500 Allowance Optional Claiming for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the outer turf #7 Stone Tornado has failed to win in any of the three starts she’s made since coming from overseas. She should be the favorite but should be included with other runners as well. Race 9: Artie Schiller Stakes for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the inner turf #1 Ballagh Rocks leaves Bill Mott’s barn after his last race which is a slight cause for concern. Mott is winning at 17% in the last 365 days, but this seven year old has plenty of talent no matter what barn he’s running for. #2 Rinaldi was on a two race win streak before he ran in the Mohawk Stakes up at Belmont Park. To no one’s surprise he faltered late after a first quarter of :23.72 to begin the race. Race 10: $25,000 Claiming for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt #6 The Caretaker drops into the Claiming ranks for the first time since August 4 2019 back at Saratoga. In 2019/2020 he’s finished in the money in 11/14 starts indicating his ability to remain consistent. #11 Just Right won at this level last time out for Todd Pletcher who’s winning at 56% to start the meet. He won’t be able to keep that up, but he’s one of the hottest trainers in the country right now.
