Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park Picks for January 28, 2020 January 27, 2021 Handicapping Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park Picks for January 28, 2020 January 27, 2021 By: Ricky Pasternak email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article Ricky’s Rockets? was all over it last week on Pegasus Day, but now it’s time to turn the page as a brand new week is upon us. We are back at Gulfstream Park and Aqueduct on Thursday afternoon as we look to find the same success we had last weekend! Also included below: my 10-race preview of Gulfstream Park. Best of luck! ( Content Continues Below Ad ) Aqueduct January 28, 2020 Race 5: Maiden Special Weight for 3-year-olds going 6 furlongs on the dirt #5 Crowded Trade comes into this race with a $185,000 price tag and one of the best trainers in New York. Chad Brown has brought the majority of his stock to Florida, but the runners he’s left here has resulted in him winning at 42% at the meet. #6 Bird Ruler has the best experience in the field and should be one of the runners taking the most money in the gate. Race 6: $25,000 Claiming for 4-year-olds and upward going 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt #1A Brilliant Brooks is the preferred runner in this spot for Rob Atras. Montaulk Daddy was scratched out of this spot for a race later in the week. Manny Franco and Atras have teamed up to win at 13% in the last 365 days, and are one of the more formidable duos. Race 7: $50,000 Maiden Claiming for 3-year-olds going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt #5 Sono Grato may be best off if he’s pushed a little bit more out of the gate this time around. Kendrick Carmouche was aboard Sono Grato when they finished behind #7 Blu Grotto when they battled on December 6. Blu Grotto got out to a strong start last time out and I expect her to get to the lead again as Jose Lezcano picks up the mount again. These two runners are probably the best on paper and should be the runners to consider when playing multi-race wagers moving forward. Race 8: $10,000 Claiming for 4-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt #6 Hammerin Aamer has only one in the money finish since the beginning of 2020. The good news is there looks to be some speed in this race which can play right into his hands. Assuming the pace heats up, Hammering Aamer will be in the perfect spot to storm home late. #8 I Love Jaxson may get the jump on Hammerin Aamer as they look to overtake the front runners late in the stretch. It’s important to note he races less than a week ago at the $16,000 level.
