Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park Picks for December 3, 2020

Ricky’s Rockets? had another strong week after cashing three Pick 5’s for more than $900 each, and three Pick 4’s for over $350 each. The momentum carries into the first week of December as we look to stay red HOT!! This is the beginning of the championship meet at Gulfstream Park as well, meaning new and exciting things on the horizon.

Also included below: my 10-race preview of Gulfstream Park.

Best of luck!

Race 6: Maiden Special Weight for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the inner turf

#4 High Tide briefly took the lead in his last start going 11 furlongs on the turf last time out. This isn’t the first time he’s taken a long time to get back to the track, so an inconsistent work pattern isn’t unusual. #7 Bay Street Money finished second going 9 furlongs on the turf on July 4 at Belmont Park. In his only race at Aqueduct, he finished second on November 7.

Race 7: $20,000 Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

The coupled entry of #1 Felix in Fabula and #1A Flowers for Lisa look to give their trainer Mertkan Kantamaci only his second win of the meet. The better of the two on paper is Flowers for Lisa, but I’m hoping both of them stay in the field. #9 Big Mountain should be on the lead in this race, based on his front-running style. He was able to go gate-to-wire last time out at the $16,000 level, so it’s reasonable to think he can do it at the $20,000 level with Eric Cancel who rides back for the second straight race.

Race 8: Allowance for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the outer turf

#1 Danfusi always is on the lead, but he’s never sprinted in the past. This should be a move that could see him in the winners’ circle based on his propensity to fade late. #10 On the Couch didn’t get a chance to run on the turf last time due to weather. He gets back to his preferred surface where he’s found the bulk of his success.

Race 9: $25,000 Maiden Claiming for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#6 Remoane looked better than she ever has when she was in for a tag. The connections have finally found a level where she belongs and can find her best form. #8 Love Me Tomorrow has run a similar race on multiple occasions for the entire calendar year. She probably shouldn’t be given any more chances, but her speed is a big weapon in a lackluster field.
