Race 7: $62,500 Allowance Optional Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt

#2 Per Capita has been good since he broke his maiden for the second time. He was DQ’d after his first win and proceeded to rattle off a couple of more after that. He looks the goods both on the track and on paper. #6 Someday Jones ran at a similar level over the summer at Delaware Park and finished second. Admittedly the races there aren’t as strong at Delaware compared to New York, but it’s a good litmus test for him nonetheless.

Race 8: Maiden Special Weight for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt

#3 Black Irish gets better and better with every race he runs. This is a wide open race, but he is trending the right way and is improving with each and every start. #6 Neuro has only run two races on the dirt in his career. In the one race on a fast main track, he finished second and arguably ran his best race.

Race 9: Allowance for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#6 Luna’s in Charge has gotten her chances to win at this level, but the majority of those races have come against stiff competition in Kentucky or Saratoga. The conditions remain intact, but the quality of the field has significantly dropped. #8 Jemogrpahy has finished second in consecutive races at this level. The two races were identical to one another, coming from off the pace twice. He will certainly contend with the other top competitors in the field and looks strong on paper.

Race 10: $25,000 Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt

#6 Ryan’s Cat will be the leader after the first furlong. Unfortunately for him, he has an issue holding on as the race intensity picks up. There isn’t a ton of speed signed on for this race, so I’m hoping he can conserve a little bit more energy as they stride home. #8 Beach Front will look to make it two in a row as he moves up in class. Luckily for him, he gets Kendrick Carmouche to ride who’s currently winning at 38% at the Aqueduct winter meet.
