Ricky’s Rockets ?: Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park Picks for December 10, 2020

Ricky’s Rockets? was struggling mightily before Sunday afternoon got us back on track with a massive $1,057.45 late Pick 4 at Gulfstream Park. Things are starting to turn around, and it’s time to hop on board as we attach a brand new week from Aqueduct and Gulfstream.

Also included below: my 10-race preview of Gulfstream Park.

Best of luck!

Race 6: Allowance for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

#4 Cold Hard Cash has finished either first or second in all of his starts this year, and has finished in the top three in all seven of his career races except for one. #6 Jerry the Nipper faced winners for the first time on October 31. However, he wasn’t able to hold on after dueling early on over a sloppy track. This race sets up well for him as he can sit off of the lead as he gets back to 8 furlongs, he distance where he broke his maiden back in February.

Race 7: $16,000 Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

#8 No Lime isn’t quite in the same form has he was when he was two, but he still has shown he can win a race at the right level. This is his first race for Linda Rice, who is known for improving horses off of the claim. #11 Diannesimpazible came from the clouds to finish third last time out at this level. If we just look at his dirt races and are willing to eliminate his turf ones, his form doesn’t look as bad. This is a wide open race on paper.

Race 8: Allowance for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the outer turf

#5 Fresco has had her chances including her last race when she took the lead but failed to close the deal. I’ll put her on top in hopes she finishes the job. #10 Summer At the Spa finished third behind Fresco. She ultimately ran out of time going 6 furlongs, but she clearly is second best on paper.

Race 9: $20,000 Maiden Claiming for 3-year-olds and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#5 Wild Cat West ran his best race sprinting on the dirt last time out. He showed he is better going shorter distances, but he will get a fast main track this time around. At a price, he is someone bettors shouldn’t leave off of their tickets. #7 Breithorn finished third at the $30,000 level over the summer at Saratoga.  He now enters this spot off of a distant third place finish at the Maiden Special Weight level. It’s his first start in months, but he is clearly the one to beat.
