Race 7: Allowance for New York-bred 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the inner turf

#1 Sanctuary City finished second in this exact same race just a couple of weeks ago. He has the chance to replicate that performance and find himself in the winners’ circle. #4 Matt’s Express had the lead in that same race, but failed to hold on after an incredibly quick first 1/2 mile. If he can slow it down whatsoever, he will be tough to pass down the stretch.

Race 8: Allowance for fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the outer turf

#3 Astoria Kitten was put to a drive early after not getting the lead from the far outside post in her last start. After drawing a better post, she could find herself in the winners’ circle if she can get to the lead. #6 Kilkea has flourished since switching barns over the summer. Let’s see if he can claim his second career win.

Race 9: New York Stallion Series Stakes for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs on the dirt

#5 Prairie Fire was almost able to capture his first stakes victory in the Iroquois Stakes at Belmont last month. She’s always in the mix and tends to run to her odds, making her extremely reliable. #7 Sadie Ladie has never won a race where she hasn’t been close to the lead. She always looks to go gate-to-wire, and capture her first win at 7 furlongs.

Race 10: $40,000 Maiden Claiming for New York-bred fillies and mares 3-year-olds and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8 1/2 furlongs) on the inner turf

#2 Twice a Lady makes a lot of sense as she drops in for a tag for Mike Maker. Maker is winning at 27% when his runners drop in from Maiden Special Weight competition to Maiden Claiming competition. #10 My Lips Are Sealed makes her first start since May at Gulfstream Park. Like Mike Maker, George Weaver is winning at an incredible 25% when his runners make the switch in competition.
