Racing Dudes Weekly Football Tip Sheet

Horses may be our thing, but we are huge sports fans and always looking for a great betting opportunity. Each weekend we take a look over all college and NFL football games and give you our top plays. Resident sports gambling degenerate Austin Elsey is here to help us out as well.

Aaron Halterman

Last Weekend: 3-2

Overall Record: 7-7-1

NCAAF: Iowa/Minnesota UNDER 50: Both offensives are hit and miss, and the Big 10 usually features low scoring games.  I took the over in a Big 10 last week and paid the price.  Not this week.

NCAAF: Virginia Tech/North Carolina OVER 58: Expecting a shootout in this one as North Carolina can really score and Virginia Tech has been scoring in bunches with a new offensive minded coach.  This is going to be a great game…very competitive.

NFL: Houston/Minnesota OVER 40.5: This is a very low total and eventually you have to think the  Minnesota defense is going to make some mistakes.  Also the Minnesota offense is looking better and better with each game.

NFL: San Diego/Oakland OVER 51.5: Two offensive minded teams here that lack defense.  Expecting a shootout and a tight ball game throughout.

NFL: Baltimore Ravens -4: Not a big fan of the Redskins, and Baltimore at home is always tough.  Flacco has a field day on a poor Washington defense.

I’m the leader in the clubhouse at 7-7-1 so obviously these three handicappers are top notch.

Jared Welch

Last Weekend: 3-2

Overall Record: 7-8

NFL: New England Patriots -11: Easiest bet of the weekend. Thomas Brady is back in the house which means we can get back to business as usual. The Gronk You tour starts Sunday in Cleveland.

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles -3: The Eagles defense is quietly becoming one of the best in the league (see the 34-3 shellacking of the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 for reference). Oh, and this Wentz kid is alright! Coming off a bye. Look for the Eagles to take advantage of a inconsistent Lions squad.

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals -2: The first real test for the Dak, Dez and Zeke as the Bengals come to town. Look for the stout Bengals line to shut down Elliott and put the pressure on Dak. This has the makings to be a fun but at the end of the day, Bengals will cover.

NFL: San Diego/Oakland OVER 51.5: I don’t see a lot of scenarios where this game isn’t high scoring. Both teams rely heavily on their offenses and both have QBs who can sling it. A high scoring game but I wouldn’t want to touch picking a winner here.

NFL: New York Giants +240: Here’s my dog of the weekend. On paper everything seems to be pointing towards the Packers but that sometimes is when the Giants find ways to win. Giants will focus on giving OBJ the ball as much as possible to keep him happy. And when he’s happy they are usually winning ballgames. Giants upset on Sunday night.

Back-to-back weekends of a winning record. The 1-4 start hurt but I’m just getting started. Watch out, I’m about to get above .500.

Austin Elsey

Last Weekend: 2-3

Overall Record: 7-8

NCAAF: Houston -17: Houston still has something to prove after a BCS snub last year and Navy doesn’t have the team this year.

NCAAF: Ohio St -28: Covered every week ATS so far, why not jump on the bandwagon. Indiana has the matchup come basketball season but Urban is headed for a championship this year.

NFL: LA Rams -1: The Rams are working on putting it together. Goff still stays on the bench but Gurley gets a good roll on the Bills who are traveling across the country.

NFL: SD Chargers +3.5: The Chargers have shown some life despite injuries and AFC West matchups are always hard fought.

NFL: Cincy/Dallas Over 45: Look for points in this one. Dallas has struggled to be a defensive presence and both teams are finding success on the offensive side. Easily crosses the 50 mark.
