Sprinters
1. Runhappy – As previously mentioned, just a total beast of a horse. Incredible Breeders’ Cup Sprint performance.
2. Private Zone – Ran incredible in the Sprint, was just defeated by Runhappy fair and square.
3. Rock Fall – Absolutely saddened by the tragic ending to this story. Rest in Peace Rock Fall.
4. Wild Dude – Didn’t run terrible in the Sprint, just not as good as his California races.
5. Secret Circle – Happy retirement to a horse that tried every single time.
Sleeper: Salutos Amigos – Ok race in the Sprint…back in solid form.
2 Year Old Males
1. Nyquist – I doubted him in the Juvenile and I was dead wrong. Easily the champion of this division.
2. Swipe – He’s chased Nyquist in every race so far and almost got it done in the Juvenile. Easily the second best in the division.
3. Brody’s Cause – Finished third in the Juvenile and has the pedigree to get better when the distances get longer. Could be a nice prospect.
4. Exaggerator – Like Brody’s Cause his Juvenile effort wasn’t terrible, and sets him up for a nice 2016 as his pedigree is solid for going longer.
5. Cocked and Loaded – Somebody has to be fifth…this division is a mess.
Sleeper: Greenpointcusader – I don’t know what to make of him, just know I’m not going to forget about him just yet.
2 Year Old Females
1. Songbird – Could be something REALLY special!
2. Rachel’s Valentina – Second best by far, but still very promising. Did not disgrace herself one bit in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
3. Pretty N Cool – Very nice win at Belmont once she got away from Songbird. Looks like she might be better as a sprinter though.
4. Dothraki Queen – Closed nicely in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies to warrant some interest down the road.
5. Nickname – Didn’t disgrace herself in the Juvenile Fillies, but didn’t get me overly excited either.
Sleeper: Tap To It – Needs to grow up a little bit, but the potential is there.
