After a couple of days away from the track, Belmont Park is back better than ever with three maiden special weight (MSW) races. All three races have different things to offer with plenty of excitement on tap.

Race 4: 62,000 MSW for New-York-bred 2-year-old fillies going 7 furlongs on the Widener turf
John Servis makes only his fourth start of the Belmont Park fall meet with #10 Grudge. Just over a month ago, she made her debut here at Belmont and showed incredible speed out of the gate. Kendrick Carmouche did his best to rein her in, but she just wanted to run. After a :21.75 first quarter, it was evident she wouldn’t be able to maintain that sort of effort. She will be out front of this group and should be able to wire this field with ease.
Ricky’s Picks: 10-3-12-4

Race 5: $75,000 MSW for 2-year-olds going 6 furlongs on the dirt
Told Pletcher brings has a pair of colts with #1 Bellavia and #1A Farmington Road. It will be interesting to see if both entries remain in the field but Bellavia has proven he is a talented colt. His debut came at Saratoga on August 10th where he finished a very game second. He maintained his position about a length and half off the lead but couldn’t hold off Tumbling Sky. On that day he was close to 23/1 which goes to show the improvement expected here. He’s good enough to win on his own but have his stablemate certainly would help the situation. Expect the entry to be a heavy favorite at post time.

Race 8: $62,000 MSW for New-York-bred 2-year-old fillies going 1 1/16 miles (8.5 furlongs) on the Widener turf
In a very competitive field, Todd Pletcher has the horse to beat with #6 More Glitter. Her connections continue to give more and more ground and she is reaping the benefits. Her most recent start was the better of the two and is much more conducive to her running style. There should be speed from other contenders which should help her ease into the race. The quicker the pace the better. She should vie for favoritism with a few other runners and make her an appealing choice at the top of all tickets.
Ricky’s Picks: 6-4-1-8
