After a great day of racing across the country, the Big A follows it up with an eight race card prior to the big game. Today’s feature, the Busanda Stakes is for NYRA’s most promising 3-year-old fillies going 1 1/8 miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt. There is one maiden special weight (MSW) race that I’ve previewed that closes this fantastic race card.

Race 8: $60,000 MSW for New-York-bred 4-years-old and upward going 6 furlongs on the dirt
On paper, this race doesn’t appear that it will be all that competitive based on what we’ve seen from #6 Quickflash in the mornings. His most recent workout was at Belmont Park on January 24 going 4 furlongs in :48.05. That time is competitive with the quickest horses that are on the NYRA circuit. His biggest obstacle today will be: How can he translate his morning efforts to a solid performance on the track? At a short price he is worth it!
