Handicapping NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 11/8 November 7, 2019 Handicapping NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 11/8 November 7, 2019 By: Ricky Pasternak email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article Today’s card features two maiden special weight (MSW) races that have two very different perspectives. Both races are must watch races and should bring plenty of excitement to the Big A on this brisk Friday afternoon. Jeremiah Englehart brings his 3-year-old filly #5 Rapido Gatta to the track looking for her first win in her sixth career start. At morning line odds of 1/2, she is the horse to beat and should win with ease. We’ve seen these types of horses lose in the past, but I can’t see that here. Her toughest competition most likely will come from a filly who has never made her debut. Rapido Gatta should be one to single on multi-race wagers. Ricky’s Picks: 5-4-2-3 Credit: NYRA Race 5: $70,000 MSW for 2-year-old fillies going 6 furlongs on the outer turf This turf sprint is a very competitive one with a large field of 12. The filly that comes into this race the one to beat is #1 Moral Reasoning. In her debut, she broke toward the back of the pack as to be expected. She continuously made up ground in the race and ran second to Alms who is now 2-2 after her victory in the Grade III Matron Stakes last month at Belmont Park. Alms is one of the best 2-year-old fillies on turf on the NYRA circuit. If Moral Reasoning can replicate her debut, she will go on to pass her competition in the stretch with ease.
