It was a very uninspiring performance to say the least. She was three-wide the entire trip and didn’t give anyone to think much of that performance. David Donk brings her back relatively quick and hopes for a much better after finishing a distant third to Moral Reasoning. It’s also noteworthy that she has not had a morning work since her debut, indicating she will be raring to go. Ricky’s Picks: 3-4-9-5 Credit: NYRA Race 3: $70,000 MSW for fillies and mares 3-years-old and upward going 1 1/16 miles (8.5 furlongs) on the inner turf Chad Brown has seen #9 Ava Malone get better and better with every start. This time a year ago she made her debut at Aqueduct and gave way before the top of the stretch. Just a year later, she comes into this spot as the morning line favorite. She certainly will come from behind in this spot, but she is the best at doing just that. Ricky’s Picks: 9-8-4-2 Credit: NYRA Race 5: $70,000 MSW for 2-year-old maidens going 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt #1 Secret Rules will make his debut for the first time on a fast dirt track. In his debut, he ran on a sloppy track at Saratoga and lost by double digit lengths to Gouverneur Morris. In his last start, he was five-wide into the turn and didn’t fire late. Today, he finds himself on the rail which gives Junior Alvarado an opportunity to survey his options and put Secret Rules in the best opportunity to break his maiden status.
