NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 11/29

NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 11/29

After the much anticipated Thanksgiving Day card was cancelled, the Empire 6 Jackpot carryover of over $434,000 is back and ready to be taken down! There are also three stakes races on the card. These races are the Gio Ponti, the Comely, and the Forever Together Stakes. There are also three maiden special weight races that I’ve previewed that help set up this fantastic Friday at the Big A.

Race 1: $62,000 MSW for New-York-bred fillies and mares 3-years-old and upward going 6 1/2 furlongs on the dirt

Jason Servis and Jose Lezcano have a special filly in #5 Doll. This filly went off at 3/5 last time out and had a commanding lead on the field. She has supreme early speed and will not be challenged early on at all. She does have a propensity to break poorly out of the gate but there are no runners in here that can compete with her on her best day. Look for Jose Lezcano to put her on the front and run away from the competition early and often.

Race 3: $62,000 MSW for New-York-bred 2-year-old fillies going 6 furlongs on the outer turf

#6 Saratoga Love made her debut on October 11 going 6 furlongs on the turf. She ran a very impressive second after taking the lead at the top of the stretch. Her entry mate, Stretchthestory finished the best and got her by 3/4 of a length. Eric Cancel has a lot of options with this filly as she can be forwardly placed or sit off the pace behind other runners like Summer Sangria and Mazal Eighteen. Christophe Clement raved about this filly after her debut and looks primed to graduate from this class.

Race 4: $70,000 MSW for 2-year-old fillies going 6 furlongs on the dirt

We don’t see many races where so many 2-year-olds are making their debut this late in the calendar year. The filly that has caught my attention is #5 Vibrancy coming out of the Brad Cox barn. Vibrancy’s pedigree speaks for itself as Verrazano was one of the better dirt horses in his time. Verrazano didn’t make his debut until he was a 3-year-old so it’s no surprise Vibrancy has taken a while to make her debut. If she’s anything like her father, she will sprint out of the game and make a mockery of this dirt sprint in her debut.
