NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 1/11

NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 1/11

A new day means another opportunity to make some money. The Big A is headlined by the Say Florida Sandy Stakes. The only way a horse can be entered is if they’re New-York-bred and named after Say Florida Sandy who was named New-York-bred horse of the year in 2001. Michelle Nevin looks to go 3/3 in this race as the 6-year-old My Boy Tate looks to win this race for the second time in his career. There is one maiden special weight (MSW) race that I’ve previewed on this beautiful Saturday at Aqueduct.

Race 3: $68,000 MSW for 3-year-old maidens going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

Jason Servis excelled in these race conditions last year, which included going one mile on the dirt and coming off a two month or more layoff. He claimed #7 Wild Cat West after his 2-year-old debut at Keeneland on October 18. He broke poorly at the start and took himself out of the race. The morning works don’t tell the story with this colt who has a ton of talent. Look for him to settle in behind the front-runners and wear out his competition late.
