NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 1/1

NYRA Preview: Aqueduct 1/1

The Big A has provided us with a special treat as the new year begins. Today’s Jerome Stakes features is one of many races that will help runners earn points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby. Racing fans will see Independence Hall make his 3-year-old debut as he looks to start his road to the Derby on front foot. He’s no stranger to Aqueduct as he romped the field in the Grade III Nashua Stakes by over 12 lengths. With that being said, there is also one maiden special weight race today as the new year means new beginnings for everyone to make their mark.

Race 3: $60,000 MSW for New-York-bred 3-year-old fillies going 6 furlongs on the dirt

#3 New York Supreme comes into this race after stumbling out of the gate in her most recent race on December 8. Going back one race further, she ran a masterful race in her debut but couldn’t hold off Myawaya in the stretch on November 10. The main competition in this field comes from Bankers Daughter who has faced New York Supreme two times prior to this race. New York Supreme has looked amazing in the mornings since that race on December 8 and should not have a problem winning this race gate-to-wire.
