We know it’s tough to keep up with all the big races going on around the country each weekend. This weekend is no different as we have some of the biggest horses in the country running at the best tracks all throughout the day. Here are our must-see races of the weekend in order of post times.

Saturday

Saratoga – Race 3 – Sanford S. (G3) – 1:07 PM

Looking to build off a stellar debut which he won by an impressive 6 ¾ lengths, Bitumen headlines a field of five 2-year-olds in the Grade 3, $150,000 Sanford Stakes at six furlongs on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course.

Saratoga – Race 9 – Allowance – 4:40 PM

This may not be a stakes race but it certainly doesn’t lack talent! A field of six colts go 1 1/8 miles including Gray Sky, My Man Sam, Tale of Verve and Conviction. Look for at least a few of these to be in stakes company next time out.

Saratoga – Race 10 – Diana S. (G1) – 5:18 PM

Fresh off a fourth-place showing at Royal Ascot, Miss Temple City will look to post her second consecutive graded stakes victory in the United States as she highlights an accomplished 10-horse field in the Grade 1, $500,000 Diana on Saturday, the first Grade 1 of the summer meet at Saratoga Race Course.

Del Mar – Race 5 – Allowance Optional Claiming – 6:03 PM

Following a dismal last place finish last month in the G1 Met Mile at Belmont Park, Calculator will try turf for the first time in his career in the Allowance Optional Claiming race Saturday going one mile. The race looks to be competitive with the likes of Metaboss and Itsinthepost also entered.

Del Mar – Race 7 – San Clemente H. (G2) – 7:03 PM

Saturday’s Grade II $200,000 San Clemente Handicap has been largely overshadowed in the build-up for California Chrome’s San Diego Handicap two races later on the program. And overshadowed is also an appropriate term for the case of 3-year-old filly Stays in Vegas compared to champion stablemate Songbird.

Undefeated champion Songbird arrived at Saratoga Race Course Wednesday evening shortly before 8 p.m. in advance of her upcoming engagement in Sunday’s Grade 1, $500,000 Coaching Club American Oaks.

Del Mar – Race 4 – Cougar II H. (G3) – 5:40 PM

The field took a hit when Hoppertunity, the 7-5 morning line favorite for Sunday’s Grade III $100,000 Cougar II Handicap, was scratched Friday morning, reducing the field to five and moving Hard Aces to 8-5 favoritism on the morning line.
