TORONTO, ON – Trainer Larry Rivelli’s Jean Elizabeth extended her win streak to eight – all at the stakes level – after she took home Sunday’s $125,000 Whimsical Stakes (G3) at Woodbine.
Breaking from the rail as the 3/5 favorite under David Moran, Jean Elizabeth shot straight to the lead and held a decent advantage through the far turn while posting opening fractions of :22.36 and :44.78.
Still under a hand ride at the top of the stretch, Jean Elizabeth only needed a few light taps to be kept to task, crossing confidently-handled to win by 1 length. She completed the 6-furlong sprint over the fast all weather track in a final time of 1:09.86.

“She’s a rocket,” said Moran, aboard for the first time. “I wasn’t expecting her to be that quick with her ears pricked down the back.”
Painting was a fast-gaining second by 1 3/4 lengths over Summer Sunday and Charmaine’s Mia. Completing the order of finish came Foxxy Belle, Gamble’s Candy, Western Curl, Ellyb, Ode to Joy, and Alnilah.
Jean Elizabeth’s win improved her record to 21-15-4-2 with $662,786 earned. The Illinois-bred 5-year-old Adios Charlie mare is co-owned by Rivelli, Richard Ravin (who co-bred her with Rivelli), and Patricia’s Hope.
Jean Elizabeth returned $3.40 to win, $3.10 to place, and $2.20 to show. Painting brought back $8.10 to place and $4.90 to show, while Summer Sunday paid $3.20 to show.
