Monmouth Park’s Haskell Preview Day in Oceanport, N.J. features an action-packed lineup of five consecutive stakes races to close out the card. Headlining the day is the 44th running of the Pegasus Stakes, a listed event offering a $150,000 purse and serving as the local prep for the NYRA Bets Haskell Stakes (G1) on July 19.
Run at 1 1/16 miles, the Pegasus awards the top two finishers free entry and start fees for the Haskell, making it a pivotal stepping stone on the road to one of the summer’s most prestigious races.
In addition to the four designated Haskell Preview Day stakes, the card concludes with the re-scheduled Lady’s Secret Stakes. This listed event, also run at 1 1/16 miles, is open to fillies and mares three years old and up.
