Got Stormy Back On Top In Honey Fox

Got Stormy broke strongly from post 2 under Tyler Gaffalione as the even-money favorite and relaxed in hand as Gaffalione allowed Jakarta to post opening fractions of :24.29, :48.76, and 1:12.72.

Ranging up two-wide while cornering, Got Stormy straightened out with Jakarta square in her sights and took aim, taking the lead halfway home.

The 3/2 second choice Zofelle came rallying strongly with Feel Glorious, but Got Stormy’s class and talent prevailed. The Mark Casse trainee crossed a nose the best, stopping the clock at 1:35.52 for the firm turf mile route.

Feel Glorious and Jakarta were a pair of necks behind in third and fourth, respectively. Art of Almost, Ricetta, Secret Time, and Bienville Street completed the order of finish.

Nomizar was scratched.

Got Stormy’s win came in her 2021 debut and her first start since Spendthrift Farm purchased her for $2.75 million and leased 51% of her racing rights to MyRacehorse, who’s listed as co-owner. The 6-year-old Get Stormy mare’s record now stands at an impressive 27-11-5-3 with $2,096,553 earned.

Got Stormy returned $4.20 to win, $2.40 to place, and $2.10 to show. Zofelle brought back $2.40 to place and $2.10 to show. Feel Glorious paid $3 to show.
