Wagering opens Friday, July 17, at 12:00 PM Eastern and runs through Sunday, July 19, closing at 6:30 PM Eastern. ( Content Continues Below Ad ) Swiss Skydiver (3/1) has a commanding lead atop the Kentucky Oaks (G1) points standings, with 350. The Kenny McPeek trainee won three straight graded stakes earlier this spring, then finished a strong second against the boys in the Blue Grass Stakes (G2) last time out. Her status as the second favorite on the morning line is in stark contrast to her 99/1 odds when KOFW Pool 1 closed. Also improving greatly from that early March wagering period is the Bob Baffert-trained Gamine, the 9/5 morning line favorite who was 50/1 at the conclusion of Pool 1. She aired by 18 3/4 lengths in the Acorn Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park last time out, earning 50 points that puts her 11th in the standings. Four fillies in the Pool are not currently nominated to the Kentucky Oaks and have until August 15 to pay the $500 late nomination fee. Joining Mundaye Call (50/1) and Project Whiskey (50/1) in that category are Altaf (30/1) and Paris Lights (50/1), who are both entered in Saturday’s CCA Oaks (G1). The CCA Oaks awards points to the top four finishers on a 100-40-20-10 basis, so the top two runners would likely be guaranteed to qualify.
