The Grade 1 Santa Anita Sprint Championship shares the Saturday card with two other stakes races with potential Breeders’ Cup implications: the Grade 2 City of Hope Mile Stakes (which could have runners go to the Breeders’ Cup Mile) and the $100,000 Speakeasy Stakes, now a Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series “Win and You’re In” event for the Juvenile Turf Sprint.
