Floyd Mayweather Announces his Return at MMA Event

While the world has been awaiting Floyd Mayweather’s return, his fan base was in hysterics when the legendary boxer announced his official return in 2021. Mayweather promised his return in 2020 but had to postpone his plans because of the sudden impacts of the global pandemic.

With things gradually getting back to normal, “Money” has announced to the world, especially his fanbase, that he is all set to make his return in Tokyo, Japan, next year.

The world has been basing their betting needs via; similarly, the world has been rooting for the return of Mayweather.

Mayweather took to his Instagram to share the news with the world, sharing a short clip where he informed his fans about the comeback he planned. In the video, he clarified that he is set to return at RIZIN, where he formerly defeated Tenshin Nasukawa from Japan. The boxer hasn’t given any updates about the comeback match or who he will be playing against.

Following the news release, famous sports reporter Michael Benson delved into the subject and had quite a few interesting facts to share about the boxer’s comeback. But, ever since the news release, the boxing fans have been extremely excited, denoting the comeback as one of the biggest in the histories to date, one that could even beat the hype around the Olympics.

The 43-year old boxer has been out of the professional matches and the public eye since his win against Nasukawa back in 2018. The return of this boxer is one of the most anticipated events and will be in the Mega Event 2021 that will take place in the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, next year. The tentative date of the match is currently set for February 28, 2021.

The roster at RIZIN includes some of the best boxers in the modern-day and Mayweather could fight against any of them. Given the rave that he has created with the announcement of his return, it is likely that he wouldn’t have a hard time finding an opponent for his return game.

Any boxer in today’s date would be lucky enough to fight against such a legendary boxer and former champion. So, it is going to be a treat for the fans to see their favorite boxer gear up with the gloves around his wrist next year.

Just earlier this year, when Mayweather was hinting at his comeback, he teased his fans about a possible play-off against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, but nothing was finalized or announced later.

Mayweather currently has a record of over 50 wins with absolute no loss and is considered one of the most renowned boxers to date. With the nickname of “G.O.A.T”, the enthusiasm with which Mayweather announced his return, it is not surprising that he is all set to prove his worth inside the square ring once again.

Further details on the exact match and the opponents will likely be announced once everything is finalized and all set to go.
