SOUTH OZONE PARK, NY – Corms Racing Stable’s Divine Miss Grey won her third straight at Aqueduct, wiring the field in Saturday’s $150,000 Heavenly Prize Invitational Stakes.
Off sharply along the rail as the even-money favorite under Kendrick Carmouche, Divine Miss Grey immediately took command and posted splits of :23.73, :47.35, and 1:12.56 without being challenged. “She’s a nice horse,” said Gargan. “She’s worked out well for us. She kind of stumbled at the start and had to rush up, but once she was there, she inserted herself and controlled the speed, but she’s really turning into a nice horse, and I’m just lucky to have her at the right time.”
The rest of the field was strung out far behind the winner. Holiday Disguise took second, 9 3/4 lengths ahead of Frost Wise in third. Boule and Highway Star completed the order of finish.. Bishop’s Pond, Crimson Frost, and Inconclusive were scratched.
Divine Miss Grey improved her record to 15-8-3-0 with career earnings of $383,672. The 4-year-old daughter of Divine Park’s win streak at the Big A included the $100,000 Interborough Stakes last out.
Divine Miss Grey returned $4.20 to win, $2.50 to place, and $2.20 to show. Holiday Disguise brought back $2.70 to place and $2.60 to show, while Frost Wise paid $3.70 to show.
