Complexity, the 4/5 favorite under Jose Ortiz, closely stalked early leader Endorsed through fractions of :23.30 and :46.61 before taking over and drawing away in the stretch to win by 2 1/4 lengths.

Code of Honor (carrying high weight of 124 pounds, giving 5-7 pounds to each of his rivals), Stan the Man, and Endorsed completed the strung-out order of finish.

Mo Dont No was scratched.

The Chad Brown-trained Complexity won his second at the graded level and first since the 2018 Champagne Stakes (G1) over this same course and distance (Code of Honor was runner-up that day, too). The 4-year-old Maclean’s Music colt now carries a record of 9-5-1-0 with $ earned.

Complexity returned $3.80 to win and $2.50 to place, while Code of Honor paid $2.40 to place. There was no show betting.
