Breeders Cup: Where you Prep Matters

Breeders Cup: Where you Prep Matters

Will Prepping at Santa Anita Give Game On Dude and Others an Advantage?

The Breeders Cup is much like the Kentucky Derby; the prep races matter.  Over the years certain tracks that run Breeders Cup Prep Races have been more successful than others.  Watching and learning from the those preps can help us with picking winners on Breeders Cup day.  Here is a break down of where all of last years winners prepped before winning.  While looking at the list notice that both the Classic and Ladies Classic winners were produced from Belmont’s “Super Saturday” card.  Also notice that five of the six turf race winners prepped outside the United States.  These are just a couple of trends you will notice when glancing over this list.  The one wild card with this year…Santa Anita is a prep track that is also hosting the event.  Will that factor sway the prep success in Santa Anita’s favor?
