ASCOT, BERKSHIRE, ENGLAND – Berkshire Parts & Panels’ Berkshire Shadow surged along the nearside rail with a furlong remaining to post an 11/1 stateside upset in Tuesday’s Coventry Stakes (G2) at Ascot Racecourse.
The Coventry is a 6-furlong sprint restricted to 2-year-olds.

Under jockey Oisin Murphy, Berkshire Shadow posted his second victory from as many starts following a 1/2-length debut score in a 5-furlong sprint at Newbury April 16.
The Andrew Balding-trained Dark Angel colt crossed 1 1/4 lengths clear of longshot Eldrickjones, second in a thrilling photo over Vintage Clarets, Masseto, Ebro River, and the 7/2 stateside favorite Dhabab.
Caturra, the American filly Kaufymaker, The Acropolis, Tolstoy, Dashing Rat, The Organiser, Angel Bleu, The Gatekeeper, Gisburn, Golden War, and Secret Strength completed the order of finish.
Berkshire Shadow returned $24.60 to win and $7.20 to place. Eldrickjones brought back $32 to place. Vintage Clarets paid $17 to place.
