Accelerate 5-2 Favorite for Saturday’s $6 Million Breeders’ Cup Classic

Breeders' Cup News and Picks

LOUISVILLE, KY – Hronis Racing’s Accelerate has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite in a field of 14 3-year-olds and up plus two also-eligibles set for Saturday’s $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) run at 1 ¼ miles on the main track, the main event of the 35th Breeders’ Cup World Championship races to be run Friday and Saturday (Nov. 2-3) at Churchill Downs.

The Classic is the richest of 14 Championship races, worth more than $30 million in purses and awards, to be run over the two days at Churchill Downs and will be televised live by NBCSN and NBC. The Classic will be broadcast live at 5:44 p.m. ET on NBC.

“The outside is actually good for Accelerate,” Accelerate’s trainer John Sadler said. “He can do whatever he wants to coming away from the gate. He should be able to get a real good tracking position or make the lead if it is there for the taking. He can do whatever Joel (Rosario) wants.”
