( Content Continues Below Ad ) Two Sixty was ignored at the window as she broke from post 6 at 9/1 odds under Emma-Jayne Wilson, but there was no missing her as she shot straight to the lead. Running uncontested early, she posted opening fractions of :24.12, :48.81, and 1:13.36 while the 6/5 favorite Owlette gave closest chase. Still in command as she rounded the far turn, Two Sixty repelled all comers and held on gamely to win by 3/4 of a length. The Mark Casse trainee completed the 1 1/16-mile fast synthetic route in a final time of 1:45.01. “It was clear on paper that Owlette was going to be pace, but they took the blinkers off, so right off the hop, I wanted to get away and set myself at the front with conviction, and that’s what happened,” Wilson said. “As we eased into the backstretch, I took a little bit of a hold of her. I glanced between my legs and saw that I had a length or so of daylight that I could ease back and have her take a breather. She pricked her ears as we came around the 3/4 pole top of the backstretch and it was great. And then I just waited to hear them… waited to hear them… waited to hear them… waited to hear them… She dug hard, she ran fast, and she held them off.” The 84/1 longshot Saratoga Vision rallied from last to take second by a 1/2-length over Owlette, while a further 1/2-length back, Merveilleux headed Diamond Sparkles for fourth. Livin in the Six and American Tap completed the order of finish. Two Sixty’s win was her first since January’s Gasparilla Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs and improved her overall record to 11-4-1-1. The Florida-bred 3-year-old Uncaptured filly, purchased for $260,000 as an unraced juvenile, has now earned $472,577. “It’s Mark Casse, Gary Barber, you can’t go wrong,” Wilson said. “Mark is a fantastic trainer and he puts these horses in races and they can win. I followed instructions. We went with the flow of that. … She went to the lead, set some solid fractions and held them off in hand. She had to work a little harder today, but that’s kind of the way it panned out for us.” Two Sixty returned $21.40 to win, $9.40 to place, and $5.10 to show. Saratoga Vision brought back $38.40 to place and $13.30 to show, while Owlette paid $3.10 to show.
