Race 4: $75,000 MSW for 2-year-old fillies going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the dirt

Barclay Tagg has a super-talented filly in #5 Highland Glory (4/1). She made her debut back in late August at Saratoga, losing to another talented filly, Wicked Whisper, who won by over 6 lengths. Highland Glory’s last two morning works have been sub :48.00 going 4 furlongs over the local course. Junior Alvarado will most likely send her to the front and let his filly show off her speed.

Race 7: $75,000 MSW for 2-year-olds going 1 mile on the dirt

#9 Mo and Go (9/2) gets his opportunity to show what he’s made of after just missing out in his last start on August 22. His first start on turf back in July is a throw-away; he started extremely slow on a surface that he didn’t seem to like. In his most recent start, Luis Saez put him on the front and took the lead at the top of the stretch. Once the eventual winner Enforecable took the lead, Mo and Go was extremely disciplined and made it difficult, losing by less than a length. Mo and Go is my best play of the day.

Race 11: $75,000 MSW for 2-year-olds going 1 mile (8 furlongs) on the Widener turf

Bill Mott hasn’t had #6 Sul Moon (3/1) get his picture taken despite two winning efforts. Debuting at 13/1 odds, he just missed at the wire and lost by a head after going five-wide in the stretch. In his last start, he finished second by 1 1/4 lengths to Structor, who won the local Pilgrim Stakes (G3) last week. A colt as talented as Sul Moon is bound to find the winner’s circle sooner rather than later. If he breaks sharply out of the gate, it will certainly be his time to shine when it’s all said and done.
