To no one’s surprise, trainer Bob Baffert’s pair of undefeated Grade 1 winners Game Winner and Improbable were named the individual morning line favorites for Pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager, with “All Other 3-Year-Olds” expected to once again be the overall favorite when wagering closes on Sunday.
Though neither one has yet to make his 2019 debut, Game Winner and Improbable have been given odds of 6/1 and 8/1, respectively. Game Winner was named the 2018 Eclipse Award winner as the top 2-Year-Old Male after concluding the year with a win in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Improbable was most recently seen winning the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Futurity Stakes by 5 lengths.
Among the 23 individual betting options for the Future Wager, Baffert’s barn also features representation from Coliseum (15/1) and Mucho Gusto (15/1), the latter having won last weekend’s Grade 3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes.
