NCAAF Free Pick: Georgia (7-0) vs. Florida (4-3) at Jacksonville 10/30/21 October 27, 2021 Joshua L. Jones / USA TODAY NETWORK NCAAF Free Pick: Georgia (7-0) vs. Florida (4-3) at Jacksonville 10/30/21 October 27, 2021 By: Mike Halterman email Share: share on facebook share on twitter share on linkedin email this article This is a rivalry game that is always played at Jacksonville. The Bulldogs come into the day as the overwhelming No.1 team in the nation. On the other hand, the Gators are struggling at 4-3. By all rights, this game shouldn’t be close, but sometimes unpredictable, strange things happen between these two. Let’s see of we can find something to bet on.TOTAL TEAM POINTS:Georgia Total Team Points: 32.5 points The Bulldogs are averaging 38 points per game and they are going against a Florida defense, that is better than I thought before I started researching them. Until last game’s meltdown against LSU, the most points they had allowed in a game was 31 in a close loss to Alabama. The Georgia offense is anything but fancy, and they are going to try and control the game with their running attack. If Florida can stay away from turnovers, control the run, and make some plays with their own offense, I would think they could keep Georgia around this total.Florida Total Team Points: 17.5 Florida is averaging 34 points per game and have scored more than 18 against every team but Kentucky. They are averaging 501 yards per game of total offense (254 rushing, 247 passing). So, on paper, how can they not score at least 18 points? Of course, we all know why; it’s called the Georgia defense. Georgia is giving up 208 total yards per game, (63 rushing, 145 passing). In their last three SEC games against Arkansas, Auburn, and Kentucky, they have allowed 59 yards rushing per game. So, we have to assume the Gators are not going to run the ball. That means quarterback, Emery Jones is going to have to make a lot of plays throwing the ball. Bet over 17.5 total points for Florida at your own risk.OVER/UNDER TEAM TOTALS: 50.5 Combined PointsMy assessment of this one won’t take too long. The Georgia defense is giving up 7 points per game for the season. I will admit that Florida might be the best offense they have faced and let’s assume that they score 17 points. That means Georgia would have to score 34 if you bet the over. Let’s look at the scores of the last three games that Georgia has been in. 37-0 over Arkansas, 34-10 at Auburn, and 30-14 over Kentucky. None of them reached 51. I would bet the under 50.5 in this game.POINT SPREAD:Georgia is a 14.5-point favorite in this rivalry game. I find it interesting that they were favored by more points against Arkansas, at Auburn, and Kentucky, and arguably, Florida isn’t as good as any of those teams, especially Auburn and Kentucky. But, it is a game where crazy things happen and we all know what happens in big-time rivalry games. DUDES WHO BET SPORTS PICK: Under 50.5 Total Combined Team Points
