Hot Track
Belmont – The mix of favorites and price plays makes Belmont very attractive today. Race 1 could be a nice bank roll builder with #6 GABBOLE who has a class advantage over the field. Race 2 #5 ICE WAGON is a nice morning line price of 5/2 that has a big chance with the meets best rider aboard. Race 3 looks to be a two horse race, but you have to love the Chad Brown trained #12 NIGHT PROWLER on the turf. Race 4 features the Englehart shipper #7 INVASION POINT who gets Castellano aboard. Races 5 through 7 is where some value comes into play, which is nicely placed on the card in case the first four races didn’t go your way and you need to make up ground. The 8th and 9th race we went with the Chad Brown double of MADAKET MILLIE and IDIOSYNCRATIC. Both seem to be logical winners, with Idiosyncratic being a juicy 6/1 in the finale!
Spot Plays
Keeneland Race 1: #6 Smokin Reward – First time starter for Chris Richard, who seemingly never loses at Keeneland, and Corey Lanerie is signed on to ride. Workouts have been decent…think he’s ready to fire. Win Bet.
Keeneland Race 2: #2 Lead the Line – Looking for a “drop and pop” angle here. Lead the Line has shown decent speed in his past races and in the morning, and if he can get clear against this bunch he can take them wire to wire. Easiest spot yet, and Brad Cox enters to win. Win Bet.
Keeneland Race 5: #5 Grey by You – Maggi Moss/Chris Richard claimed this horse at Churchill Last time for $25,000, and moves him up to $32,000 today which is always a good sign with these connections. Look for him to run a big one…Win Bet
Keenleand Race 7: #8 Run Zippy Run – First time starter comes in for a solid trainer, and Rosie climbing aboard makes it even better. The works have also been steady. Win/Place would be the perfect bet if the odds cooperate.
Keeneland Race 8: #Ilikecandy – This horse is on a serious roll and I don’t see it stopping today. Win bet.
Santa Anita Race 1: #2 Life On Riviera – Won’t be playable at low odds as far as a win bet, but certainly a logical single to start your pick 4 or 5 plays.
Santa Anita Race 5: #8 Flexible – Hollendorfer two year old took a step backwards last time, but obviously the trainer has confidence that she’ll bounce back today. The price is right to play a Win/Place here.
Golden Gate Race 1: #4 Magic Channel – Baze always wins the first race at Golden Gate, and him and Hollendorfer are quite the pair. The price will be short, but a straight win bet here is a good play.
