8/30 Bottom-10 Updated College Football Poll

I was going to wait and update this poll after the games finished on Labor Day. However, there has been some movement from the opening week’s games on the 28th.

No. 10: VANDERBILT They are entrenched in this spot until they play. Next Game: 9/4 E.Tennessee State

No. 9: KANSAS They were idle opening weekend. Next Game: 9/4 South Dakota

No. 8: NEBRASKA Welcome to the poll of futility, Huskers. After your opening week of bloopers, mistakes, and ineptness in every phase of the game you earned your way into the Bottom-10. Next Game: 9/4 Fordham

No. 7: UNLV Staying solid at No. 7. Next Game: 9/4 Eastern Washington

No. 6: BOWLING GREEN This is a poll where you are rewarded for being idle as the Falcons move down a spot. Next Game: 9/4 at Tennessee

No. 5: UCONN: The Huskies were thrashed 45-0 in week one and promptly moved up 3 spots. Moving up isn’t good. Next Game: 9/4 Holy Cross

No. 4: LOUISIANA MONROE Another team that benefited by being idle. Next Game: 9/4 at Kentucky

No. 3: UMASS Unfortunately, they have to play this week. Next Game: 9/4 at Pittsburgh

No. 2: AKRON The Zips moved down a spot and we have a new No. 1. Next Game: at Auburn

No. 1: NEW MEXICO STATE The Aggies lost the big opening weekend Bottom-10 matchup with previous No. 7 UTEP by a convincing 30-3 margin. This clearly paved their way to No. 1 for this week and allows the Miners to escape out of the Bottom 10. Next Game 9/4 at San Diego St.

Next week there is a full schedule and on Monday 9/6 this poll will be updated. Several of these prestigious teams have games against FCS schools and have a chance to get a win but will that be impressive enough to get them out of this poll. Stay tuned.
