Opening Week College Football Win Predictions

College football officially opened last Saturday with a few games to whet our appetites and get us ready for this weekend where all teams will get going for the 2021 season. Later in the week, we will pick our favorite betting angles but in this article, I’m going to pick who I think will win some of the more interesting matchups for, what promises to be, a great start-up to my favorite sport of all: COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

Let’s kick off our win-picks with matchups involving AP Top-25 teams.

No. 1 Alabama 31 No.14 Miami 17 The Crimson Tide are solid favorites in this one in Atlanta. I think they win but it could be close.

No. 2 Oklahoma 56 Tulane 17 The Sooners should roll in this one especially since it has been moved to Norman from New Orleans.

No. 5 Georgia 24 No. 3 Clemson 22 This matchup in Charlotte will be like a heavyweight fight between these two powerhouse programs. Quite frankly, it could go either way.

No. 4 Ohio State 31 Minnesota 20 This is a tough opener on the road for the Buckeyes. We will learn a lot about their new quarterback in this Thursday night showdown.

No. 6 Texas A&M 52 Kent State 10 Easy peasy win for the Aggies

No. 7 Iowa State 35 Northern Iowa 10 The Cyclones are expecting big things for 2021 but they usually struggle with these early games.

No. 8 Cincinnati 38 Miami(Ohio) 7 Expect a good start for the highly-ranked Bearcats

No. 9 Notre Dame 20 Florida State 17 The Irish are breaking in a ton of new players on offense and the Seminoles are looking to ambush them.

Upset Special of the Week: Virginia Tech 31 No. 10 North Carolina 27 The Tar Heels get ambushed in Blacksburg.

No. 11 Oregon 41 Fresno State 24 The Ducks have an early tussle with the Bulldogs before pulling away late.

No. 12 Wisconsin 23 No. 19 Penn State 21 This Big-10 opener will be a slugfest between two good teams.

No. 13 Florida 30 Florida Atlantic 14 I’m not very high on the Gators at this point but they will win this one.

No. 15 USC 37 San Jose St. 20 The Spartans are decent and have a game under their belt. This one might be even closer.

No. 16 LSU 31 UCLA 27 This will be an entertaining game for sure and has upset written all over it. I just think LSU is more talented and will win late.

No. 18 Iowa 24 No. 17 Indiana 21 This is another very good Big 10 matchup and features two evenly matched teams. Go Hawkeyes!

No. 20 Washington 45 Montana 14 Not much to say about this one

No. 21 Texas 33 No. 23 Louisiana 19 The Longhorns have a struggle before pulling away in this one.

No. 22 Coastal Carolina 48 The Citadel 15 Easy win in this one

No. 24 Utah 41 Weber State 7 The Utes are off and rolling.

No. 25 Arizona State 52 Southern Utah 14 Not a good trip to the desert for Southern Utah
