LOUISVILLE, KY – Multiple Grade 1 winner Spiced Perfection is scheduled to debut for her new connections against a tough field in Saturday’s $100,000 Winning Colors Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs.
Privately purchased earlier this year by Haruya Yoshida and sent to newly-named Hall of Fame trainer Mark Casse, Spiced Perfection put together a record of 21-9-5-2 between former conditioners Brian Koriner and Peter Miller. That string included victories in the La Brea Stakes (G1) for Koriner and the Madison Stakes (G1) for Miller, who also saddled her to a fourth-place effort in last fall’s Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1).
The Winning Colors attracted a field of 9 fillies and mares ages 4 and up who will traverse 6 furlongs on the Churchill Downs main track. It will go off as the fifth event on an 11-race card that also includes the $100,000 Old Forester Mint Julep Stakes (G3).
