Mohaafeth and jockey Jim Crowley trailed for much of the early going before being tipped out widest of all and quickly circling the field 2 furlongs out, then drew off to win the 1 1/4-mile event by 1 3/4 lengths. The William Haggas-trained son of Frankel kept his 2021 record perfect through 4 starts, with the Hampton Court score coming in his debut at the Group stakes level. His overall mark is 6-4-0-1.

“We have always like Mohaafeth,” said Crowley, aboard in 5 of his 6 starts. “It was a funny race – they went flat out down to the bend and there was a lot of bouncing around in front of me going on.”

Roman Empire dug in late to save second by a head over Secret Protector. Behind them came Snapraeterea, Movin Time, The Rosstafarian, One Ruler, Matchless, and Notre Belle Bete to complete the order of finish. Pythagoras scratched.

Mohaafeth returned $3.60 to win and $2.40 to place. Roman Empire brought back $6 to place. Secret Protector paid $4.40 to place.
