Wait for Nairobi broke from post 11 under Edgar Morales at 15/1 odds and remained wide in the clear while racing in mid-pack down the backstretch.

The 9/5 favorite Igloo struck the lead and posted opening fractions of :22.12 and :44.72, but Wait for Nairobi rallied through the turn along the outside of Phantom Vision and collared the pacesetter halfway home.

Taking over at the 1/8 pole, Wait for Nairobi drew off late to win the 6 1/2-furlong fast synthetic sprint by 2 lengths in 1:17.64.

Phantom Vision saved second by 3 1/4 lengths over Igloo. Speeding, Pledge, Just Read It, Dirty Dangle, Lichita, and Devil’s Advocate completed the order of finish.

Sheisthehero, Delta Gamma Cats, Paradise Song, and Rocket Reload scratched.

The Cincinnati Trophy is part of the Road to the 2021 Kentucky Oaks prep race season. Wait for Nairobi earned 10 points for the win, with Phantom Vision receiving 4 for second, Igloo 2 for third, and Speeding 1 for fourth.
