Power Rankings

The Power Rankings feature teams’ odds to win the Triple Crown Fantasy League, as well as an update on every horse on each team. Here we go:

1. Dan Waite and Michael Ossen (3/1)

  • Sierra Leone – He picked up the first major points of the season with a nice win in the Risen Star Stakes (G2).
  • Book’em Danno – He ran huge in the Saudi Derby (G3) to finish second behind Forever Young.
  • Bergen – The newest member of the team did no running in the Gotham Stakes (G3).
  • Rocketeer – He finally had his first workout of the season on 2/18.
  • Maymun – He dazzled in an impressive allowance win at Santa Anita Park.

2 Jared Welch (7/2)

  • Conquest Warrior – He’s progressing nicely after a solid allowance win at Gulfstream Park.
  • Coach Prime – He was a disappointing third last time out in the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2).
  • Timberlake – His 3-year-old debut was solid with an easy win in the Rebel Stakes (G2).
  • Imagination – He ran his normal race in the San Felipe Stakes (G2), which was good enough to get the job done.
  • Noted – He didn’t fire at all in a turf stakes race at Gulfstream Park. We’ll see him this weekend in the Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3).

3. Actual Double Ds (Paul “Free Bears” Withrow) (4/1)

  • Knightsbridge – This solid debut winner at Churchill Downs is back on the work tab.
  • Track Phantom – He was good once again but just couldn’t quite get the job done in the Risen Star Stakes (G2). We’ll see him this weekend in the Louisiana Derby (G2).
  • Forever Young – He showed heart to narrowly win the Saudi Derby (G3).
  • Endlessly – The newest member of the team runs this weekend in the Jeff Ruby Stakes (G3).
  • Otello – He was a total no-show in the Holy Bull Stakes (G3). We’ll see him this weekend in the Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3).

4. Kelby/Evil Steveil (9/2)

5. Vinny Blond (5/1)

6. Geist (8/1)

7. Shotty and Davey (15/1)

  • Common Defense – The newest member of the team runs this weekend in the Louisiana Derby (G2).
  • Liberal Arts – He was a decent third in the Southwest Stakes (G3).
  • Otto the Conqueror – He did no running in the Southwest Stakes (G3). We’ll see him this weekend in the Hot Springs Stakes.
  • Deterministic – This was the claim of the year so far, as he won the Gotham Stakes (G3) off of a long layoff.
  • Real Men Violin – He did very little running in the Risen Star Stakes (G2). We’ll see him this weekend in the Louisiana Derby (G2).

8. The Magic Mike Show (30/1)

  • Parchment Party – He’s out until at least the spring with a minor issue.
  • Honor Marie – He could only finish 5th in the Risen Star Stakes (G2). We’ll see him this weekend in the Louisiana Derby (G2).
  • Encino – The newest member of the team looked sharp winning the John Battaglia Memorial Stakes at Turfway Park.
  • Ethan Energy – He sucked again in a recent allowance race.
  • First World War – He picked up 5 valuable points with a win at Gulfstream Park – on turf.

9. Jon White and Ryan Stillman (30/1)

  • Nash – He was a fairly disappointing second in a recent allowance race.
  • Tuscan Sky – He was an impressive winner in an allowance race at Fair Grounds to make it 2 in a row.
  • Hades – The newest member on the team was an upset winner of the Holy Bull Stakes (G3).
  • Victory Avenue – He was a solid second on debut at Gulfstream Park; however, he scratched out of the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2).
  • Born Noble – This horse looked like he was ready to romp but lost the lead late in a recent allowance race.

10. Double Ds (Doc Tang and Doc Miranda) (30/1)

11. Aaron Halterman (50/1)

  • Speak Easy – Don’t even get me started.
  • Merit – Really, just don’t ask.
  • Antiquarian – The newest member of the team will likely scratch right before the Louisiana Derby (G2).
  • Wynstock – Please, stop.
  • Who Dey – I’m sure he’ll get hurt soon.
