7. Horse racing would benefit greatly
Most people will say “what’s best for the horse” is always the right answer, and I don’t disagree with that. If the horse is not fit for a certain race he/she should not be running in the event. However, if Songbird comes to Kentucky as a fine tuned machine and runs in the Kentucky Oaks it does horse racing no good whatsoever. The pure presence of a filly in the Kentucky Derby always creates a buzz. Can you imagine if a “girl” was the favorite in the race? The general public would eat that stuff up! If she runs in the Kentucky Oaks the general public still won’t even know her name.
