Week 13 in the NFL is Over

After Week 13 in the NFC, Green Bay, Tampa Bay, Dallas, and Arizona are getting close to claiming the division titles. The race for the wild card spots are jumbled up and likely will go down to the last week. In the AFC, there are no clear cut leaders for the division crowns. Tennessee looks solid, but they have issues with the loss of Derrick Henry. Stay tuned as we enter the home stretch. Here’s how the divisions stack up.

  • NFC EAST: Combined Record 24-25
  • Dallas 8-4: They bounced back and got a good win at New Orleans to stop the bleeding. They are still in control of the division.
  • Washington 6-6 : They got their 4th straight win in Las Vegas and they are suddenly a player in the playoff hunt.
  • Philadelphia 6-7: The Eagles got a win with their backup quarterback and stayed around the playoff picture.
  • New York Giants 4-8: The Giants lost to the surging Dolphins and continue to have trouble scoring.
  • NFC NORTH: Combined Record 19-28-1
  • Green Bay: 9-3 The Packers come back from the bye week and are ready to establish themselves as the best team in the NFC.
  • Minnesota: 5-7 The Vikings suffered the ultimate embarrassment; they lost to the Lions. The season is over for them.
  • Chicago: 4-8 The Bears lost another game. That is hardly a surprise.
  • Detroit: 1-10-1 They are still celebrating in Detroit after the Lions won their first game of the season. Rumor has it, Monday was designated as a city-wide holiday.
  • NFC SOUTH: Combined Record 24-24
  • Tampa Bay 9-3: The Buccaneers got another victory and are a lock to win the division.
  • New Orleans 5-7: Just five weeks ago, the Saints were riding high after a win over the Bucs. Since then, they are 0-5.
  • Atlanta 5-7: They can’t beat anyone that’s any good.
  • Carolina 5-7: The Panthers were idle last week and have lost 7 of their last nine.
  • NFC WEST: Combined Record 28-20
  • Arizona 10-2: The Cardinals became the first team to win 10 games and took care of business in Chicago.
  • Los Angeles 8-4: They got back on track and took advantage of a bad Jacksonville team.
  • San Francisco 6-6: Just when the 49ers were becoming a trendy pick for the playoffs, they lose to the Seahawks.
  • Seattle 4-8: The Seahawks were going to beat somebody and they jumped up and got the Niners.
  • AFC EAST: Combined Record 25-25
  • New England 9-4: The Patriots have won seven in a row after winning a huge game at Buffalo. They have a leg up for the division.
  • Buffalo 7-5: Are the Bills as good as we think they are? They aren’t showing it.
  • Miami 6-7: Five in a row for the Dolphins and they enter a bye week with a chance for the playoffs.
  • New York Jets 3-9: The Jets got pushed around by the Eagles.
  • AFC NORTH: Combined Record 27-20-1
  • Baltimore 8-4: The Ravens finally lost a close game when they went for 2, and the win, and failed to convert.
  • Cincinnati 7-5: The Bengals blew a chance to move into a tie for the division, if they could have beat the Chargers. But they didn’t.
  • Pittsburgh: 6-5-1: Don’t bury the Steelers just yet. They are hanging in there.
  • Cleveland 6-6: The Browns offense is terrible; end of discussion.
  • AFC SOUTH: Combined Record 19-30
  • Tennessee 8-4: The Titans had the week off and are looking to get back on the winning track.
  • Indianapolis 7-6: The Colts took care of business with a win over the Texans to stay in the playoff race.
  • Houston 2-10: The Texans were shutout by the Colts 31-0 in a poor performance.
  • Jacksonville 2-10: They are hoping to find a couple more wins in the final weeks of the season. Probably not going to happen.
  • AFC WEST: Combined Record 27-21
  • Kansas City 8-4: The Chiefs beat Denver Sunday night and they keep winning. They might get the No.1 seed in the AFC.
  • LA Chargers 7-5: If you can figure the Chargers out, you are better than me. They won a monster game against the Bengals on the road.
  • Denver 6-6: The Broncos‘ defense was great in Kansas City but they have to get a quarterback.
  • Las Vegas 6-6: The Raiders needed a win over Washington last Sunday and couldn’t close the deal. I can’t take them seriously.
