Week 10 is in the Books and Chaos Continues in the NFL

It might be a good idea to go easy on betting the NFL for now. It’s getting hard trying to figure out who is good and who isn’t. In the NFC, Dallas bounced back from an obscene loss with a 45-3 blowout of Atlanta, Green Bay completely shut down Seattle, but, what is going on in Tampa after losing to Washington, and Arizona looked like Arizona as Carolina thumped them 34-10, behind retread quarterback, Cam Newton. In the AFC, Tennessee continued to win, the Chiefs are beginning to round into form and will take control of their division, and the Patriots are now 6-4 and have two games left with the Bills. On the other hand, Baltimore was horrible on Thursday night against Miami, Pittsburgh tied the hapless Lions, Cleveland has so many injuries and other problems, and so on and so on. We are past the halfway mark and we don’t know much of anything. Let’s update the divisions.

  • NFC LEAST: Combined Record 17-20
  • Dallas 7-2: They came back from their beatdown against Denver and destroyed Atlanta. Still a lock to win the division
  • Philadelphia 4-6: They don’t get the credit they deserve. They aren’t very good, but they bring it every week. Could be a spoiler down the stretch.
  • New York Giants 3-6: Dangerous team to play and will upset somebody pretty good.
  • Washington 3-6: Impressive win over Tampa Bay shows this team hasn’t quit.
  • NFC NORTH: Combined Record 15-21-1
  • Green Bay: 8-2 Great defensive effort by the Packers and Aaron Rodgers had nothing to do with it. Another lock to win the division.
  • Minnesota: 4-5 You have to give this team some credit. After so many close losses, they just keep on playing. Great win on the west coast.
  • Chicago: 3-6 Had the week off and the development of Justin Fields continues.
  • Detroit: 0-8-1 At least, they won’t be the first team to lose 17 games in the NFL.
  • NFC SOUTH: Combined Record 20-17
  • Tampa Bay 6-3: Troubling times in Tampa after a bad loss at Washington.
  • New Orleans 5-4: Good effort against the Titans but they couldn’t close the deal.
  • Carolina 5-5: Do you realize they are in the running for a playoff spot? They got a big win at Arizona.
  • Atlanta 4-5: The Falcons should have saved the money they spent on the trip to Dallas because they didn’t show up to play.
  • NFC WEST: Combined Record 22-16
  • Arizona 8-2: The Cardinals crashed and burned against the Panthers and they are waiting for Kyler Murray’s return.
  • Los Angeles 7-3: Do the Rams have hidden problems, or are they just in a slump? Stay tuned.
  • San Francisco 4-5: The 49ers played a great game Monday night and slaughtered the Rams. They ain’t dead yet.
  • Seattle 3-6: The Seahawks might have had the worst offensive game in history in Green Bay.
  • AFC EAST: Combined Record 17-21
  • Buffalo 6-3: The Bills won, but it was against the Jets. Still the score was 45-17 and the offense showed some life.
  • New England 6-4: They are playing as well as anyone in the AFC. And, they still have a shot at the division after 4 straight wins.
  • Miami 3-7: Very inspired performance from the Dolphins against Baltimore.
  • New York Jets 2-7: Trying to win as many games as they can.
  • AFC NORTH: Combined Record 21-15-1
  • Baltimore 6-3: The Ravens were absolutely awful Thursday night against Dolphins. How good are they?
  • Pittsburgh: 5-3-1: The good news; they didn’t lose, the bad news; they tied DETROIT.
  • Cincinnati: 5-4: They had the best week of any team in their division and they didn’t even play.
  • Cleveland 5-5: The Browns are a team in turmoil with too many issues to discuss here.
  • AFC SOUTH: Combined Record 16-22
  • Tennessee 8-2: They won their second straight without Derrick Henry and continue to beat very good teams. Lock to win the division.
  • Indianapolis 5-5: The Colts are a resilient bunch and are the best 5-5 team in football.
  • Jacksonville 2-7: They are hoping to find a couple more wins in the final weeks of the season.
  • Houston 1-8: They are so bad I almost feel sorry for them.
  • AFC WEST: Combined Record 21-17
  • Kansas City 6-4: It took 10 games, but the Chiefs have taken over the top spot in the division. They finally look like themselves.
  • Las Vegas 5-4: The Raiders laid an egg at home in a game that would have given them a little separation in the division.
  • LA Chargers 5-4: They lost a game at home to the Vikings and that was a game they really needed.
  • Denver 5-5: The Broncos blew a chance to be in first place losing to an average Philadelphia team at home.
