Somo’s Six Pack: Week 6 NFL and College Football Picks

While Week 5 was our first losing week of the year with a 2-4 record bringing the overall record to 17-11 for the year.  On the honorable mentions we are rocking a 12-2 record.  Let’s get it back this week and rack up some W’s!

Nebraska (-4.5) vs. Minnesota

Nebraska has played well verses top tier competition this year, but is now just 1-3 in conference and have to head on the road to face a tough Gophers team that will keep this game in a low scoring, slow paced grind it out style meaning points will be at a premium.  The Huskers also come off another tough loss to Michigan and are in a logical flat spot here. They are just giving too many on the road in a hostile environment.

The Bet – $110 to win $100 – Minnesota +4.5

Iowa St (-6.5) vs. Kansas St

Let’s keep leaning on some home dogs in college football.  Bill Snyder Family Stadium is going to be ROCKING for this one on Saturday night.  Iowa St. offense is not exactly prolific, and the Wildcats D is actually sneaky good.  Kansas St. is expected to get their QB back here and are coming off the bye as well after playing Oklahoma tough. I wouldn’t be shocked if Kansas St. wins this one outright, but let’s take the points.

The Bet – $110 to win $100 – Kansas St. +6.5

Arizona vs Cleveland (-3.5)

This is just not a good spot for the Cardinals.  There is wind expected on Sunday in Cleveland which should heavily favor the run game.  That’s the Cards D’s weakness and the Browns offensive strength so Cleveland will be able to move the ball and control the clock.  Arizona, on the other hand, does not run it well and you have a banged-up Kyler Murray who regressed last year and stopped running once he was injured.  I would wait to see if you can get -3 here with Chubb being ruled out, but it’s -3.5 right now so that’s what we will grade this at.

The Bet – $110 to win $100 – Cleveland -3.5

Kansas City (-6.5) vs. Washington

There is a lot of talk of this being a “get right” game for Kansas City and I could see that, but Washington can move the ball and put of points so I don’t want to lay it here.  What has pledged the Chiefs this year are turnovers.  They where -3 or -4 in multiple games and that will be the focus this week.  Simply put, the Chiefs may not punt.  Let’s play the Team Total over.

The Bet – $100 to win $115 – Kansas City Team Total Over 31.5

Cowboys -180 / Baltimore -135

Let’s play a little two team ML parlay here.  New England struggles to score, Dallas does not.  Dallas should be able to put up points and we will have to see a new dimension from the Pats offense to keep up.

I’ll fade the Chargers who are an unreal +57 point over expectation on 4th down plays this year.  I just don’t see how they keep that up especially when they are only +26 over all for the year.

The Bet – $100 to win $171 – Cowboys -180 / Baltimore -135

Las Vegas vs. Denver (-4)

Well, Las Vegas has had an interesting week after laying an absolute egg last week verse the Bears.  The thing is, they are 3-2 and in contention for a playoff spot so there shouldn’t be any quit here even the Gruden issues.  This is one of the lowest totaled games on the board, but Denver is beat up on defense and the Raiders have weapons.  Let’s play a low Team Total over here.

The Bet – $110 to win $100 – Las Vegas Team Total Over 20.5

Let’s throw out a couple of Honorable Mentions this week:

Oklahoma St / Texas Over 60.5

Buffalo -7.5

Alabama 1H -10

Utah Pick Um

Vikings -2.5

Kareem Hunt Over Rushing Yards

Good luck this weekend!!!
