Papa Dudes Bottom Ten in College Football

Week 12 was a typical, mediocre week for our Bottom-10 participants. . They went 2-8 as a group and there might be some new additions to the list. There is only one week left for these teams, although I think a playoff for the worst teams in the FBS would be highly entertaining. There is a lot of drama as UCONN, UMASS, and Florida International are trying to close out the season with definitive losses that will hold their rankings. Let’s get to it.

No.10: VANDERBILT 2-9: The Commodores drop down 3 spots after they played highly ranked Mississippi to a competitive game. They still have a shot of escaping. Next Loss: at Tennessee

NO.9: ARIZONA 1-10: They escaped for a couple of weeks but a 44-18 drubbing at Washington State, landed them back where they belong. They have one last chance to get out. Next Loss: at Arizona State

NO.8: ARKANSAS STATE 2-9: The Red Wolves actually played pretty well before eventually crashing back to earth. They move down two spots. Next Loss: Texas State

NO.7 INDIANA 2-9: The Hoosiers made their debut into the Bottom-10 last week and proved they really like it here. They scored the first 14 points of the game Saturday, before giving up 35 straight to Minnesota. They move up two spots. Next Loss: at Purdue

NO.6 RICE 2-9: Another impressive loss for the Owls as they try to play their way into the final poll. Next Loss: Louisiana Tech

NO.5 SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI 2-9: OK, I know what you are thinking. They won last week and only moved down one spot? Don’t they deserve better? Obviously not!! They have their chance to get completely out of the poll with a win this week. Next Loss: Florida International

NO.4 NEW MEXICO STATE 1-10: After two straight weeks playing SEC schools (shouldn’t that be illegal), they finish their season against the No.2 team in the poll. Tickets are not going as fast as one would think for a game of this proportion. Next Loss: UMASS

NO.3 FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL 1-10: The Panthers are patiently waiting in the wings, just hoping for a miracle win for the two teams ahead of them. Time is running out, but their 48-7 loss last week, shows they are still trying to reach the top. Next Loss: at Southern Mississippi

NO.1A UMASS 1-10: The Minutemen are solid at No.1A, but they have a winnable game this week with another Bottom-10 team. The anticipation is starting to build. Home field advantage means nothing; they are putrid anywhere Next Loss: at New Mexico State

NO.1 UCONN 1-10: The Huskies were blown out in Orlando, but enjoyed all the sights. There is a better chance of Trump fading away than they have of losing the No.1 spot. Next Loss: Houston

Dropped out: Tulane
