Papa Dudes 5 Best Bets for the Week 10/24 – 10/26

Here are my five best bets for this Saturday (10/23) and Sunday (10/24). Last week, I went 4-1 and I missed my LOCK OF THE WEEK as the Oregon Ducks couldn’t score in the red zone and failed to cover against California. I’m now 5-2 for the year. I did manage to hit the UPSET SPECIAL and ran my record to 7-1 for this season. I like four games on Saturday in college football and my NFL game will be on Monday night.

Saturday’s Best Bets:

*PAPA DUDES LOCK OF THE WEEK* Oklahoma State at Iowa State: The Cowboys are the No.8 team in the nation and come into Ames as a 7-point underdog to the unranked Cyclones. I can see Iowa State winning but I don’t see them covering. Oklahoma State is unbeaten and they have been in some tough situations numerous times and have shown their toughness.

PAPA DUDES PICK: Oklahoma State + 7

Maryland at Minnesota: This Big-10 game features a Maryland team coming into Minneapolis really struggling. They won their first four games before laying an egg against Iowa and getting blown out at Ohio State. On the other hand, the Gophers are playing well and have won two in a row coming into this one. I think they will win this one and cover the spread.

PAPA DUDES PICK: Minnesota -5

West Virginia at TCU: The Horned Frogs offense is clicking and they put up 31 points and over 500 yards total offense last week against Oklahoma. West Virginia will have some success against the leaky TCU defense but I don’t think they can score enough to keep up with the Frogs.

PAPA DUDES PICK: TCU -4.5

East Carolina at Houston: After losing their first game, the Cougars have won 5 straight games. They are emerging as the 3rd best team in the American Conference. East Carolina is 3-3 and have played better than expected. I’m looking for the Cougars to keep it rolling.

PAPA DUDES PICK HOUSTON -13.5

TWO OTHERS I CONSIDERED:

Wisconsin -3 at Purdue: The Badgers are 3-point favorites against the Boilermakers in this one and I think Purdue wins it outright.

Oregon at UCLA -2: Even though Oregon is ranked No.10, the unranked Bruins are 2-point favorites in an important Pac-12 game. The Ducks have struggled on offense since running back, C.J. Verdell got hurt and this will be a big test for them. Meanwhile, UCLA has been consistent and can put up points on offense. I like UCLA to cover the spread.

Monday Night Game:

New Orleans -5 at Seattle: The Saints come into Seattle favored by 5-points against a disappointing Seahawks’ team. New Orleans has been up and down and are 3-2 for the season. Seattle is 2-4 and they can pretty much forget the season if they lose this one. It’s Monday Night, Seattle is desperate, and they have a ton of pride. I think they are going to play very well.
