NCAA Tournament Bracket Updates As Of 3/7/22

TEAMS THAT HAVE PUNCHED THEIR TICKET INTO THE TOURNAMENT:

THINGS TO WATCH IN THE UPCOMING CONFERENCE TOURNAMENTS:

American Conference:

LOCK: Houston

TEAMS ON THE BUBBLE AND THEIR CHANCES: 1. Memphis 80% if they get to the finals. 2. SMU 45% chance if they get to the finals.

ACC:

LOCKS: Duke,North Carolina, Notre Dame, Miami,

NEED A WIN TO BE SAFE: Wake Forest

TEAMS WITH A CHANCE: Virginia and Virginia Tech. Both need to win the tournament, but if they get hot, this tournament can be won by an underdog.

Atlantic-10:

ALMOST A LOCK: Davidson: The Wildcats need to make sure and avoid an upset in the first game.

BUBBLE TEAMS: 1. Dayton 22-9: The Flyers have made a late push and with a couple of more wins they could slip in 75% chance if they do that. 2. VCU 21-8: They are in the same boat as Dayton but if they get to the finals they will probably get in. Chances: 75%

Big-12:

LOCKS: Kansas, Baylor, Texas Tech, Texas

ALMOST A LOCK: Iowa State 20-11 and TCU 19-11- Both of these teams are probably in unless some upsets occur in other conferences.

Big East:

LOCKS: Villanova, Providence, UConn, Marquette, Seton Hall, and Creighton

BUBBLE TEAM: Xavier 18-12: The Musketeers are only 8-11 in the conference and that will hurt their chances. They probably need to get to the championship game to warrant a chance.

Big-10:

LOCKS: Purdue, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State

BUBBLE TEAMS: Rutgers 18-12, Indiana 18-12, and Michigan 17-13: These three teams all have legitimate chances but they are going to have to get to the championship game to make a solid case.

Mountain West:

LOCKS: Colorado State, Wyoming, Boise State, and San Diego State

PAC-12:

LOCKS: Arizona, UCLA, and USC

MAYBE HAVE A CHANCE: Colorado 20-10: I really don’t think they have much a chance, but if they could get to the championship game, they would have 22 wins, and would have a win against one of the 3 big conference teams.

SEC:

LOCKS: Auburn, Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, LSU, and Alabama

MAYBE HAVE A CHANCE: Texas A&M 20-11, Florida 19-12: Both of these teams are going to have to make a deep run and pull off some upsets in the conference tournament.

WCC:

LOCKS: Gonzaga, St.Mary’s

BUBBLE TEAMS: San Francisco 24-8, BYU 22-10: The Cougars chances took a huge hit when San Francisco beat them yesterday. So, they are hanging by a thread. San Fran is in good shape unless they get blown out tonight by Gonzaga.
